The reviews are in, and the Performing Arts Series’ return to Goodhart Theater Feb. 13, featuring the dance troupe Urban Bush Women, was a huge success.

In addition to the standing-room-only performance, the night was marked by a special dinner prior to the event in which Bryn Mawr President Jane McAuliffe and other members of the College community played host to many of the Philadelphia area’s art and culture leaders.

Following the performance, about 30 alumnae of the Graduates Of the Last Decade (GOLD) group gathered in the common room of Goodhart Hall for an after party with the principal dancers of Urban Bush Women. Over hors d’oeuvres and spirits, they took the opportunity to discuss the performance casually and catch up with fellow GOLD alumnae from the greater Philadelphia, New York, and D.C. areas. GOLD Committee Chair Cara Petonic ’07 was on hand to welcome the recent graduates, thank them for their past support of the College’s Annual Fund, and emphasize the significant role they play in the College’s future.

Persian-Indian electronica band Niyaz, fronted by spellbinding vocalist Azam Ali, performs at Bryn Mawr College’s Goodhart Theater as part of the Performing Arts Series at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27.
