Vanity Fair recently ran a pictorial preview of the book Seven Sisters Style: The All-American Preppy Look, a new fashion photography book by Rebecca C. Tuitte, that hits bookstores on April 8.
Jackie Kennedy. Sylvia Plath. Ali MacGraw. Katharine Hepburn. Meryl Streep. Though these women share many qualities—strength, independence, and ambition, to name a few—their incomparable style was heavily influenced by their formative experiences at their respective seven sisters colleges: Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke, Radcliffe, Smith, Vassar, and Wellesley. Think boyfriend blazers, Bermuda shorts, plaid kilts, tennis sweaters, and knit polos. That unique sensibility is the premise of Rebecca C. Tuite’s new book, Seven Sisters Style, out on April 8.
