Double Life of Paul de ManReviews of The Double Life of Paul de Man by Evelyn Barish ’56 have recently appeared in both The New York Times and The New York Review of Books.

From The New York Times:

“The Double Life of Paul de Man,” by Evelyn Barish, to be released officially next Monday by Liveright, has already generated a kind of double response. Kirkus Reviews, among other enthusiastic early notices, praised it as “a riveting biography” of a “master confidence man.” Some scholars and former colleagues of de Man, though, have called it a strangely belated, questionably documented “gotcha” exercise.

Reviews of The Double Life of Paul de Man have also appeared in Kirkus Reviews, Harpers, and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
