Ashley Gavin ’10, recently was featured in a Google Developers Live video feature focusing on her work with technology teaching organizations Hopscotch and Girls Who Code.

In the video, Gavin, a curriculum consultant to schools, nonprofits, and companies, is interviewed by fellow alumna Julia Ferraioli ’07, a Developer Advocate for Google Cloud Platform.

Gavin and Ferraioli were both computer science majors at Bryn Mawr.

In the video, Gavin mentions being asked to teach coding basics to the actors of a new MTV series called “Eye Candy.” In this Facebook post you can see Gavin and the show’s star Victoria Justice.

Bryn Mawr’s Computer Science Department  is founded on the belief that computer science should transcend from being a subfield of mathematics and engineering and play a broader role in all forms of human inquiry. All majors, minors and concentrations offered by the department emphasize foundations and basic principles of information science with the goal of providing students with skills that transcend short-term trends in computer hardware and software.
