The Bryn Mawr community joins the nation and world in mourning for those lost and injured this week at the Boston Marathon.

The Pensby Center and Counseling Services will provide two opportunities to stop by, talk with each other, share feelings about the Boston tragedy, or just sit quietly tomorrow, Friday, April 19.

  • From 9-11 a.m. tomorrow morning, the community is invited to come be in the space of the Counseling Center’s conference room. Light refreshments will be available.
  • From 1-5 p.m., the Pensby Center invites students, faculty, and staff to drop in and be in community. Cards for individual reflection will be available.

“Whenever a tragedy like this or the horrible explosion that just happened in Texas occurs, the deans try to make personal contact with students who may be most affected and offer support,” says Dean of the Undergraduate College Michele Rasmussen. “However, we know that these sort of events impact everyone and hope that these gatherings will provide a moment of healing and reflection for the entire community.”

Rasmussen reminds students that counseling services are available through the Health Center and that the Dean’s Office is also available as a resource.
