The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Jessica Hyejin Lee ’13 and fellow activist Tania Chairez, a student at the University of Pennsylvania, were arrested Wednesday afternoon at a protest  at the Philadelphia offices of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The protest was organized by DreamActivist/PA, an immigrant-rights organization that focuses on undocumented youth. Lee and Chairez have both publicly acknowledged their undocumented status; at the time of their arrest, they wore t-shirts bearing the motto “Undocumented, Unafraid, Unapologetic.”

As other news outlets begin to pick up the story, the incident is provoking considerable discussion in social-media channels.
