Bryn Mawr Students Now Have ‘One Stop’ for Taking Care of Business Online

Being a college student can be complicated. Completing time sheets, managing bills, registering for classes, requesting a transcript or an enrollment verification —these are just a few of the tasks students are asked to complete every semester. Sometimes it is difficult to know which office does what.

Launched in August and accessible through the Current Students gateway page, One Stop has been created to help centralize “the business” of being a Bryn Mawr student.

One Stop provides direct links to important information in Virtual Bryn Mawr, as well as links to policies, forms and other financial information.

The One Stop page was developed with input from the Registrar’s Office, Student Financial Services, The Deans’ Office, The Controller’s Office, Student Administrative Services, and Web Services.

Focus groups, surveys and usability testing will be implemented after fall break to improve the One Stop user experience.

“We expect the One Stop page will always be changing to meet the needs of our students, and we will consistently ask for their input with an eye toward making their experience even better,” says Director of Enrollment Communications Maureen McGonigle.

The One Stop page mirrors an effort that’s been taking place over the past two years on campus to centralize many student business functions.

“It used to be that students went to the Registrar’s Office in Taylor for transcripts, Financial Aid in the Benham Gateway for award information and the Controller’s Office for refunds. Getting things done could take the better part of a morning,” says McGonigle. “Two years ago we started to transition to a centralized student administrative services. Soon students will be able to go to Guild and it will be the real-world equivalent of the One Stop page.”
