At Convocation, President Notes What’s New on Campus: Athletic Field, Dining Hall Makeover, Student Lounge, More

At Fall Convocation on Monday, Aug. 29, President Jane McAuliffe welcomed the campus community back to Bryn Mawr with a brief overview of some of the changes that took place over the summer (see photos from Convocation and the community picnic that followed in the slideshow above. If your device doesn’t support Flash, see the photos on the Bryn Mawr Flickr page).

The construction of a brand-new multi-use athletic field, a new student lounge in Merion Hall, and a soon-to-be-completed geochemistry lab in Park Science; renovations to Erdman Dining Hall; and the movement of the scaffolding that enveloped the front of Thomas Hall to the rear of the building are among the most dramatic physical changes greeting new and returning Bryn Mawr students, faculty, and staff this year.

However, there are a number of other physical, administrative, and curriculum changes big and small that will make the 2011-12 academic year an exciting and interesting one for the entire campus community.
