Bryn Mawr President Jane McAuliffe invites the entire Bryn Mawr community to join her for the fall convocation on Monday, Aug. 30, at 4:30 p.m. in the McPherson Auditorium, Goodhart Hall, as the college officially begins its academic year and the celebration of its 125th anniversary.

In addition to comments from McAuliffe, representatives of the undergraduate and graduate student bodies, and other college officials, this year’s convocation will feature a slideshow presentation of 125 years of campus life created by Jen Rajchel ’11.

Following convocation, students, faculty, and staff are invited to a community picnic celebrating the global character of the College. The event, which will last from 5:15-7:30 p.m., will feature international cuisine and live music.

Among September’s 125th anniversary events:

  • A birthday party on Merion Green (Campus Center rain site) hosted by the Self-Government Association at noon on Thursday, Sept. 23, with cake from Food Network’s Ace of Cakes, Charm City Cakes, to honor the anniversary date of Bryn Mawr’s opening.
