GSSWSR Professor James Martin Quoted in USA Today Article on Military Extensions

martinjwebGraduate School of Social Work and Social Research Professor James Martin, a retired Army Colonel with a 26-year career in the Army Medical Department, is quoted in this USA Today article on the elimination of forced military extensions.

Martin was the senior Social Work Officer in the Persian Gulf Theater of Operations during the first Gulf War and edited The Gulf War and Mental Health: A Comprehensive Guide.

Since his retirement from active duty, Martin has served as a consultant to the Department of the Army for a variety of social service and mental-health initiatives. He is currently involved in similar initiatives in support of the Air Force and Marine Corps.
